Evanescent Optics Inc., established through the acquisition of Canadian Instrumentation & Research Ltd. assets in 2009, specializes in fiber optic components and interferometric sensors. With roots tracing back to 1975, when Canadian Instrumentation & Research Ltd. was incorporated, our expertise in optics and associated disciplines has been honed over decades.

Evanescent Optics Inc. continues the legacy of innovation in evanescent wave technology, originally pioneered at Stanford University. Our patented method for optical contact of polished fibers enables the production of high-quality fiber-optic couplers without the need for interleaving layers of adhesive, resulting in low loss and high isolation components.

Our product range includes polarization maintaining couplers, NxM arrays, wavelength division multiplexers (WDMs), taps, polarization splitters, and variable couplers.
