Founded in 2003 by a team of experienced professionals from the University of Calgary's Institute for Space Imaging Science, Keo Scientific brings together a wealth of knowledge and expertise in space and atmospheric research, mechanical and electrical engineering, optical instrumentation, and software development. Our founders have been at the forefront of scientific innovation since the mid-1970s, with a track record of designing and deploying specialized instrumentation for a wide range of applications.

Located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, our state-of-the-art optical laboratory facility serves as the hub for our design, assembly, testing, and calibration activities. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, including darkrooms, an ISO Class 7 clean room, NIST traceable integrating spheres, and access to custom lens-grinding facilities, we ensure that our instruments meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Named after the Eskimo term "keoeeit," meaning the aurora shining before daylight, Keo Scientific draws inspiration from the mysteries of the natural world to drive scientific discovery forward. Our founder, Dr. Robert Eather, has left an indelible mark on the company, imbuing it with a spirit of curiosity and exploration that continues to guide our endeavors to this day.
