Optores GmbH, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a leading innovator in ultrafast swept lasers and optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology. With sweep rates reaching several million OCT A-scans per second, Optores introduced the concept of "MHz-OCT," enabling groundbreaking applications such as real-time surgical guidance with 4D-OCT, large-area surveys, blood flow visualization, and high-throughput industrial inspection.

Founded in 2013 by pioneers in the field, Optores leverages patented core technology stemming from Prof. Robert Huber's pioneering work on Fourier-domain mode-locked lasers and ultrafast OCT, recognized with the European inventor award in 2018. As a spin-off from Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich, Optores received initial funding from EXIST Forschungstransfer, enabling the company to embark on its mission of democratizing MHz speed OCT technology.
