SiTek Electro Optics AB

Founded in 1976 at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, SiTek Laboratories AB emerged from Prof. J.T. Wallmark's discovery of the lateral photo effect and the development of Position Sensing Detectors (PSDs). Initially operating within the university's Institute of Solid State Electronics, SiTek focused on exploring commercial applications for PSD technology.

By 1984, SiTek had transitioned to modern facilities in Partille, enabling advanced production and development of PSDs. Despite early market challenges, the 1990s saw significant growth and innovation. SiTek introduced several new PSDs, including the NT-PSD with patented stray light elimination, UV PSD, ES PSD, and YAG PSD, along with enhanced position measurement electronics and design software.

Today, SiTek is recognized worldwide for its high-quality PSDs, known for outstanding linearity, high resolution, and superior speed.
