SUTTER INSTRUMENT
Sutter Instrument, based in Novato, California, stands at the forefront of scientific innovation since 1974. Renowned for our unwavering commitment to quality, we manufacture precision instruments for the scientific community. All design and manufacturing take place in our state-of-the-art facility, featuring an exceptional machine shop equipped with CNC machining and turning centers.
Our origins trace back to Dale Flaming, a UCSF scientist facing challenges in micropipette production. His solution, the first electronically controlled micropipette puller, gave rise to Sutter Instrument. Today, Dale serves as our active CEO, driving continuous improvement and customization of our products to meet diverse research needs.
From our modest beginnings, we've evolved into a 55,000 square foot facility with over 70 dedicated staff, many with neuroscience backgrounds. As a testament to our commitment, Sutter Instrument became partially employee-owned in 2007 through our ESOP, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
At Sutter, we take pride in supporting scientists worldwide with cutting-edge devices, amplifiers, microscopes, micromanipulators, and imaging products, ensuring advancements in scientific exploration.
