Hollow Glass Waveguides
Description
Hollow Silica glass WaveGuides (HWG) enable flexible delivery of InfraRed radiation in the Mid-IR range of 2-18μm while maintaining low divergent beams. Unlike solid core IR-fibers, HWG cables are free from Fresnel reflection losses at their ends due to their hollow core structure. This advantage, coupled with the smaller divergence of the output beam compared to multimode IR-fibers, makes HWG cables preferable for laser power delivery.
Standard HWG cables have core diameters ranging from 500-1000µm and are coated with a double polymer jacket, providing the high flexibility required for a broad variety of applications.
