Electrical Corona and arcing can lead to damaged insulators, corona rings, electrical & mechanical failures.
This can lead to dropped lines, possible forest fire hazard in dry season and also audio noise and radio/TV interference.

Use this camera to properly check Overhead Lines and Substations on a regular basis for damaging Corona activity. The DayCor® Superb™ is very easy to operate! It is a hand held portable Bi-spectral 100% Solar Blind Corona Camera that displays the UV electrical corona discharges overlaid onto a visible color video image in real-time. No time delay between the UV and the visible image presentation on the Trans Reflective LCD screen. CERTIFIED Highest Sensitivity so you don’t miss weak discharges! The DayCor® High efficiency Catadioptric Broadband lens system, with special UV glass optics together with the High Performance Lindner Solarblind UVc passband filter and the high sensitivity high resolution detection system, makes the DayCor® Superb™ the highest sensitivity Solarblind camera available. It has 5º x 3.75º optical FOV for the best image details on overhead lines and substations! 2&4X digital zoom. The DayCor® is an excellent detection system for location of various other Ultraviolet UV sources in the 240-280 nm Spectral range! It easily finds Corona on insulators and hardware for damage evaluation and is the ideal solution for cost effective and efficient predictive maintenance on overhead lines and substation components. With its High Sensitivity, the DayCor® is also perfect for Detection of Generator and Motor Stator Corona and Partial Discharges!
