SunBelt BT9: Compact UV Conveyor System for Efficient Small-Part Curing
Description
The Uvitron SunBelt BT9 is a smaller version of our floor-mounted SunBelt 25 and UV Conveyor 40 industrial UV conveyor systems. A bench or tabletop mounted conveyor, it’s designed for the rapid curing of light-activated adhesives, resins, coatings, inks and paints on smaller parts. This UV curing equipment is suitable for laboratory or volume production applications.
The SunBelt BT9 features a quiet, variable speed motor, with a velocity regulating drive that keeps the belt speed constant for varying loads. The conveyor can be outfitted with either one or two PortaRay broad-spectrum UV arc lamp heads or one SkyRay 800 UV LED lamp head. These lamp heads and their associated mounting headrests are sold and packaged separately. The chemistry of your UV curable material will determine which option best suits your application.

Features
Adjustable lamp height: The UV conveyor’s adjustable position lamp headrest (sold separately) allows you to repeatedly set the lamp height for an optimum curing distance for various part sizes. The closer the lamp(s) are to the target curing substrate, the higher the effective intensity of UV light will be. The lamp to belt adjustment is 3–6.5” for the PortaRay and 0.5–4” for the SkyRay.
Effective UV shielding: The completely enclosed UV curing chamber shields the operator from UV light. The sliding aluminum entry and exit doors are designed to block UV light at the entrance and exit of the conveyor curing chamber. For the further safety of operators, the UV curing chamber shield curtains provide supplemental protection against light scatter from the conveyor entrance and exit when the sliding doors are fixed in the open position to allow the parts to pass.
Convenient Side-Mounted Controls and Indicator Panel: A variable frequency drive with digital speed readout adjusts and regulates the conveyor belt speed up to 29’ per minute, allowing for repeatable product exposure time and curing dose. An LED display shows conveyor belt speed in feet per minute, as well as motor subsystem alarm codes. The system features a red emergency stop push-button for power cutoff to the lamps and conveyor motor for emergency shut-off situations, as well as a master AC input power rocker switch with a breaker.
Adjustable end chute: An adjustable end chute handles parts as they exit the conveyor system. For accumulating cured parts, you can adjust the chute to a flat horizontal position so the parts slide onto the chute without dropping from the conveyor belt. Alternatively, you can fix the chute in a downward sloping position so processed parts slide onto the benchtop.
Removable lamp heads: The conveyor can be outfitted with either one or two PortaRay arc lamp heads, or with a single SkyRay UV LED lamp head. These lamp heads can be easily removed for bulb replacement or maintenance. They can also be moved quickly from the conveyor to an optional low-cost benchtop shielded mounting stand or Rayven UV curing chamber. This feature allows for offline engineering process testing and maximum equipment use.
Dual spectrum capable: When configured with two PortaRay lamp heads, the SunBelt BT9 offers the unique curing advantage of mixing any of its four available lamp spectrum types. For instance, the conveyor’s first lamp head can be fitted with a UVB lamp for sealing the surface, preventing oxygen from diffusing and causing surface tackiness. The second lamp can be a UVA type whose longer wavelengths penetrate more effectively, providing deeper curing. This method optimizes adhesive reaction speed without the need for expensive nitrogen purge or the delays of pulse curing.
Two AC line input versions: The system is available in voltage ranges that make it compatible for use worldwide. The UV4080 covers the range of 90–132AC, and the UV4081 covers 180–264AC line input.
