SPA Single Pulse Fiber Amplifiers
Description
SPA Series fiber amplifiers provide low-noise amplifica3on of signals not opera3ng in the con3nuous-wave regime, such as a single op3cal pulse. In contrast to conven3onal con3nuous-wave or average-power amplifiers that reply on satura3on condi3ons, the SPA series provides low-noise amplifica3on that is inherently stable regardless of input pulse energy, dura3on, or format.

Frequently Asked Questions
The customization options available for the SPA Series fiber amplifier include selectable wavelength, SM or PM, user-controlled gain, broad-band (>10nm) operation, SBS monitor port, long pulse train/moderate rep. rate, output collimator, SBS suppression, and high-energy pulse output.
The gain range of the SPA Series fiber amplifier is 10-40 dB optical gain.
The ASE noise floor of the SPA Series fiber amplifier is ≤ 1 μW.
The polarization extinction ratio of the SPA Series fiber amplifier is 18 dB for PM versions only.
The SPA Series fiber amplifier provides low-noise amplification of signals not operating in the continuous-wave regime, such as a single optical pulse. It is used for finite pulse train amplification, remote sensing, high energy laser seeder pulse, infrared systems, and dynamic transmission electron microscopy.
