Frequently Asked Questions
The Chromacity Spark FIR has a wide range of applications, including finger-print region spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, gas and pollution sensing, stand-off chemical sensing, material characterization, metrology, hyperspectral imaging, breath analysis/endoscopy, atmospheric research, combustion diagnostics, photoacoustic spectroscopy, and explosive detection.
The Chromacity Spark FIR is the first commercial quasi-CW OPO covering the molecular fingerprint region. It has a spectral output available in the 5-12 µm range via discrete broadband spectral output, 10 MHz repetition frequency, integrated pump laser (optional 1040 nm output), and turnkey operation. It is manufactured using a single high-grade aluminum baseplate for the pump laser and OPO.
The Chromacity Spark FIR is an optical parametric oscillator that provides broadband output from 5 – 12 µm (2000 cm-1 – 833cm-1) in the mid-infrared region.
The Chromacity Spark FIR has an easy-to-use interface with safety shutter and laser emission control over Ethernet and Wi-Fi. It also has a door interlock error alert and can control multiple lasers. The control interface includes Ethernet and web page serial port (for control via LabView/MatLab), and custom interface available.
The Chromacity Spark FIR has a quasi-CW output from 1.48 –4.2µm, up to 800 W from the signal port and 250 mW from the idler port. It also has an optional 3rd output port that delivers 500 mW at 1040 nm and a 100 MHz repetition frequency.
