Pulse Measurement Device
Description
Swamp Optics offers compact, convenient FROG devices for measuring ultrashort laser pulses in real time and which yield the most complete measurements ever and include the beam spatial profile and spatio-temporal distortions. Awards include an R&D100 award and a Circle of Excellence award. Swamp Optics also offers custom devices for nearly every pulse-measurement problem, and we recently introduced a compact pulse compressor automatically free of distortions and very inexpensive.

Some extremely important pulse-measurement research news:
Did you know that most modern pulse-measurement techniques still only measure the infamous coherent artifact that plagued early pulse measurements in the 1960s? And as a result, they can’t distinguish a train of short, simple, and stable pulses from a train of long, complex, and unstable pulses. I’ve attached an Optics Letter on this subject. If you’re busy (and who isn’t?), just check out its two figures, which tell the whole story. Don’t worry; GRENOUILLE doesn’t have this problem, and it can even tell you whether your pulse train is stable or not.

Also on this site are tutorials, lectures, humorous stories, and complete sets of elegant Power Point lectures on Modern Physics, Optics, and Ultrafast Optics, which you can download to learn these subjects or to teach a course http://www.frog.gatech.edu/talks.html

Frequently Asked Questions
The IR GRENOUILLE yields the pulse intensity and phase vs. time and the spectrum and spectral phase with great accuracy and reliability, making no assumptions about the pulse or its shape. It also yields the pulse-front tilt and spatial chirp, and the Model 10-100-USB yields the beam spatial profile.
The IR GRENOUILLE is a pulse measurement device for ultrashort laser pulses that measures the actual pulse, not just the coherent artifact.
The IR GRENOUILLE can measure pulses with wavelengths from 900 to 1100 nm and 1220 to 1620 nm.
No, the IR GRENOUILLE does not require alignment and can be easily placed in the beam.
The FROG device has received an R&D100 award and a Circle of Excellence award.
