Optical Filters
Description
Intlvac can provide custom optical filters for a diverse range of substrates and for the VIS, NIR, SWIR, and MWIR spectral regions. The links below provide examples of a few of these coatings.
1. SINGLE AND MULTI BANDPASS FILTERS
- Coating Description: a bandpass filter is designed to transmit energy only within a selected band of wavelengths in the spectrum and reject all other wavelengths
- Durability Performance: Adhesion, severe abrasion, humidity as per the following (where applicable): MIL-C-675, MIL-M-13508, MIL-M-14806, MIL-C-48497, MIL-F-48616, MIL-STD-810F
2. LONG WAVE PASS (LWP) FILTERS
- Coating Description: a long-wavelength pass filter transmits energy at wavelengths longer than the cut-on wavelength while energy at wavelengths shorter than the cut-on is attenuated.
- Durability Performance: Adhesion, severe abrasion, humidity as per the following (where applicable): MIL-C-675, MIL-M-13508, MIL-M-14806, MIL-C-48497, MIL-F-48616, MIL-STD-810F
- Coating Description: a short-wavelength pass filter transmits energy at wavelengths shorter than the cut-off wavelength while energy at wavelengths longer than the cut-off is attenuated.
- Durability Performance: Adhesion, severe abrasion, humidity as per the following (where applicable): MIL-C-675, MIL-M-13508, MIL-M-14806, MIL-C-48497, MIL-F-48616, MIL-STD-810F
- The purpose of the neutral density (ND) coating is to attenuate the incident flux. In its simplest form, the thickness of a single metallic layer is adjusted so that a prescribed transmittance is attained.

Frequently Asked Questions
Intlvac provides custom optical filters for a diverse range of substrates and for the VIS, NIR, SWIR, and MWIR spectral regions.
A bandpass filter is designed to transmit energy only within a selected band of wavelengths in the spectrum and reject all other wavelengths.
The filters have durability performance in terms of adhesion, severe abrasion, and humidity. They meet the standards such as MIL-C-675, MIL-M-13508, MIL-M-14806, MIL-C-48497, MIL-F-48616, and MIL-STD-810F.
A long-wavelength pass filter transmits energy at wavelengths longer than the cut-on wavelength while attenuating energy at wavelengths shorter than the cut-on.
The purpose of a neutral density filter is to attenuate the incident flux. It adjusts the thickness of a single metallic layer to achieve a prescribed transmittance.
