Frequently Asked Questions
Transmission gratings are surface relief components that diffract light and allow it to pass through, rather than reflecting or absorbing it.
The features of transmission gratings include high diffraction efficiency, high aspect ratio, blazed gratings, chirped gratings, binary gratings, slanted gratings, beam splitters, low polarization dependent loss (PDL) gratings, gratings on curved surfaces, and anti-reflective (AR) coated gratings.
Transmission gratings are commonly used in aerospace, avionics, beam scanning, laser systems, metrology, ophthalmology, pharmaceuticals, spectroscopy, and telecom.
Holographix's transmission gratings offer custom-designed high aspect ratio gratings, high quality with repeatable performance, >90% diffraction efficiency with low stray light, and a cost-effective alternative to volume phase gratings.
Holographix has the capability to produce transmission gratings up to 300mm in diameter, with feature sizes ranging from <100nm to >1mm, spatial frequencies up to 5000 g/mm, and wavefront accuracy of <λ/10 P-V. They also have a temperature range of -50º C to 260º C and chemical resistance to most common solvents.
