Did You know?
Hyperspectral imaging is an imaging technique where detailed spectral information is measured for each pixel of the image under consideration. Unlike the traditional imaging where the receiving sensor perceives three main bands of color (red, green and blue), hyperspectral imaging involves analysing the spectral information contained in the image. For each pixel of the image, the receiving hyperspectral imaging sensor records the spectral information, which usually spans a large number of spectral bands. This imaging technique allows for a detailed analysis of the studied sample using the rich spectral information in the recorded light as a peculiar fingerprint. Hyperspectral Imaging has found diverse applications in agriculture, astronomy, chemical and environmental monitoring, and others.
