Frequently Asked Questions

The Ultra Low Ratio Tap Coupler is available with coupling ratios as low as 0.001%. This extremely low ratio allows for precise monitoring of high-power optical signals without damaging the photodetector.

The GK-LTC Series can handle a maximum average optical power of up to 3 W. For peak power in nanosecond pulses, it can handle up to 10 kW.

The tap insertion loss for the GK-LTC Series is typically 30 ± 3 dB, which ensures that only a very small fraction of the light is diverted to the tap port.

The coupler exhibits excellent thermal stability with a variation of ≤ 0.002 dB/°C. This ensures reliable performance across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C.

The coupler is designed to work with Corning SMF-28 fiber. Custom fiber types can be specified if needed.

The GK-LTC Series is ideal for high-power optical applications, including monitoring in EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier) systems, DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) systems, and vehicle applications where precise light sampling is required.

The standard model is designed for a center wavelength of 1550 nm. Custom wavelengths may be available upon request.

The coupler is available with no connectors (N) as standard. Other connector types can be specified if needed.

The coupler dimensions vary depending on the configuration. For instance, the 1 × 2 configuration has a diameter of Φ3.0 mm and a length of 54 ± 1 mm for 250 μm bare fiber, and Φ4.0 mm with a length of 70 ± 1 mm for 900 μm loose tube.
