Description
This is a Violet Laser Diode manufactured by Ushio Opto Semiconductor. These violet (purple) laser diodes attain industrial-quality and high reliability at high output powers. TO-can Packaging: This 405nm violet (a.k.a. purple or blue) laser diode comes in a 3 pin TO-can package. They are considered class 4 safety laser devices. The diode is hermetically sealed into its packaging that houses the blue laser diode chip.
Handling and Operating Precautions: Laser diodes are very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) as well as temperature fluctuations that exceed the specified operating range. Therefore it is highly advisable to mount the laser diode on a mount with high thermal conductivity to ensure efficient cooling. Additionally, it is important to provide a low-noise clean electric current source to ensure high quality optical output. Finally, laser chip inside this violet laser diode is sensitive to moisture and care should be taken to ensure dryness of the ambient air.
