A Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) is a type of semiconductor laser that generates light in the mid wave to longwave infrared portions of the spectrum, generally between 4 and 12 microns.
The MonoLux QCL system is a wavelength tunable external grating cavity quantum cascade laser system consisting of one QCL.
The applications of the MonoLux QCL system include spectroscopy, free space optical communications, directed infrared countermeasures, and other security areas.
The MonoLux QCL system has an average power output of 500 mW at the center of each QCL tuning curve for a duty cycle of ~50% (wavelength dependent).
